BodyArmor had NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney star in a new ad for its SportWater drink line, coinciding with a primary paint scheme position last week where the car matched SportWater’s white label packaging that debuted in stores this year. The sports drink maker debuted the ad last weekend when it ran the paint scheme on Team Penske’s No. 12 Ford driven by Blaney at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Blaney has endorsed BodyArmor since 2017 and the company has sponsored Penske since 2018, but this was the first time it activated SportWater in NASCAR. The sides also released special merchandise around the car including die-cast models and koozies. BodyArmor is increasing focus on SportWater as this year it debuted new packaging sizes and the new white label identity. Other paint schemes that BodyArmor has done through the years in NASCAR include one where it honored the late Kobe Bryant, who was an investor in the company, and a “pick your paint” contest where fans got to vote between three different options.
